Book Review – Nemesis by Brendan Reichs

NemesisIt’s been happening since Min was eight. Every two years, on her birthday, the same man finds her and murders her in cold blood. But hours later she wakes up in a clearing just outside her hometown alone, unhurt, and with all evidence of the crime erased.

Across the valley, Noah just wants to be like everyone else. But he’s not. Nightmares of murder and death plague him too, though he does his best to hide the signs.

And as the world around them begins to spiral towards panic and destruction, the two troubled teens discover that people have been lying to them their whole lives . . .

I’m giving Nemesis a very strong 4.5 stars 🌟

It is a well put together strong thriller and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. It does have a few weakish points but nothing I care strongly about! My main complaint was Tack’s worrying lean toward possessiveness which thankfully didn’t fully come out, and Noah’s flip flopping personality – especially towards the end. But I overruled those in favour of the immense amount of suspense.

I like that the blurb tells you enough about what’s going on that you start the book suspicious of everyone! You are at first going to Min “why are you only just figuring that out?!” Lol. But while I saw a couple of the twists (including the main one about how it was done) I am SO annoyed I didn’t get the why, considering! I’m leaving this non spoilery but if anyone has read it and wants a rant about how I should have guessed (probably not!! 😂) then feel free to message me 😉
