I am separating this months post into two lots – pre and post YALC!
So before YALC I got:
- Tarnished City by Vic James
- Bright Ruin by Vic James (kindly sent to me by the publisher)
- Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard
- Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson (birthday present from the lovely Maja)
- Jade City by Fonda Lee
- Marked by Benedict Jacka
- Nyxia Unleashed by Scott Reingten
- Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton
- Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff
- Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers
Not too awful (or too good, lol) considering mostly YALC books or pre orders. Plus fairyloot and a birthday two book splurge and I’m covered. Need to do better in August though.
At YALC I also picked up:
- The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F C Yee
- Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp
- The Dark Queen by Josephine Boyce
- Noteworthy by Riley Redgate
- Payback by M A Griffin
- Moroda by LL McNeil
- Palom by LL Mcneil
- The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig
- Broken Sky by L A Weatherly
- Theatrical by Maggie Harcourt
- The Memory of Fire by Callie Bates
- Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza
- Shadows by Meagham McIssac
- Movers by Meaghan McIssac
- Fugitive Six by Pittacus Lore
- Generation One by Pittacus Lore
- Peril in Paris by Katherine Woodfine
- Poison City by Paul Crilley
- Moondust by Gemma Fowler
- Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
- The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon
- The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee
- The Dazzling Heights by Katharine McGee
- The Bloodprint by Ausma Zehanat Khan
- All the Ever Afters by Danielle Teller
- Lorali by Laura Dockrill
- Devoted by Jennifer Mathieu
- No Fixed Address by Susin Nielsen
- You Only Live Once by Jess Vallance
- Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix by Julie C Dao
- Following by Jeffry W Johnston
Phew! Not as restrained as I’d hoped, but I have actually read a couple and needed hard copies, and some of the others were free/won or very good deals…. *makes all the excuses*

So in June my TBR number went up to 95, eep. I’ve been pretty good about powering through books in July, but some have been kindle (net galleys), or loaned books, or even a couple of sneaky audio re-reads. So I’m not sure how much I expect that to change to be honest. *drumrolls* My July (PRE YALC) number is:
90
Yay! I’m actually pretty pleased with this, given the audio/kindle content of my monthly read list. If I add in all the YALC books, it then goes back up though; to
118
which is painful, but I shall just have to try and have a good August, reading wise, see if I can get it back down a bit!
Awesome book haul! Going to Cons or book events are also rough on a TBR. I know after I want to BookCon I added like 20 books to my TBR.

I have gone twice and this second time was a huge improvement from what it has been in the past. I hope you get to attend in the future!
