Book Review – The Scarecrow Queen by Melinda Salisbury

scarecrow queenThe final battle is coming…

As the Sleeping Prince tightens his hold on Lormere and Tregellan, the net closes in on the ragged band of rebels trying desperately to defeat him. Twylla and Errin are separated, isolated, and running out of time. The final battle is coming, and Aurek will stop at nothing to keep the throne forever…

Explosive, rich and darkly addictive, this is the stunning conclusion to Mel Salisbury’s internationally best-selling trilogy that began with The Sin Eater’s Daughter.

I really liked the conclusion to this series. I enjoyed getting to see more of Twylla and Errin, as they are so awesome. In particular both getting to come of grips with what is needs to be done and what that means for them was really nice. Especially for Twylla.

I really wanted to see more of what Leif was thinking – I think in the last book I hoped for that and I’m sad not to see more of it now. How he got to where he was and why he made the decisions he did – for good or bad. I found his character the hardest to read because I just had no idea what was going on with him.

I also wanted more Silas, but I can cope with that a little.

I really liked the evilness of the Prince – and the way he does things. The opening scene in particular is SO creepy.

Overall a good finale for the series, though the second book is my favourite.
