Book Review – The Lost Twin by Sophie Cleverley

My rating: 
Perfect middle grade mystery.
It’s very cleverly done, and super creepy in places. And very boarding school-y too, with horrible girls and teachers. Ivy is a great main character – really coming out of her shell and into her Scarlet persona, and of course wonderfully backed up by the fabulous Ariadne.
Rookwood sounds like an utterly horrible school to go to, and one of my favourite things is getting to visualise so much by Ivy going around trying to find Scarlet’s clues. It’s brilliant!
The mystery is excellent – and I like that we are trying to solve an unknown mystery, that’s a good twist.
I’m definitely going to be reading the next one, as I’m dying to know how the ending affects the characters!

I have to say, I read fewer crime books and mysteries too. I used to absolutely love Nancy Drew when I was a kid, and I still like mysteries now… but I can’t get on with the thriller style crime novels which seem to have replaced them for the most part. Though, I discovered cozy mysteries recently, which has reminded me why I loved the genre as a kid 🙂
