May Book Haul

May was …less good than April in terms of haul.  I bought a few books because authors were going to be at YALC, or sale, and then ALL the pre orders came out in May, and I “accidentally” stumbled across a few other books. 😀

My haul was:

  • Goodbye, Perfect by Sara Barnard
  • The Grisha Trilogy box set by Leigh Bardugo
  • Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake
  • The Beasts Heart by Leife Shalcross
  • Charmcaster by Sebastien De Castell
  • The Queens of Innis Lear by  Tessa Gratton
  • Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett
  • The Surface Breaks by Louise O Neill
  • Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian, an ARC kindly provided by My Kinda Book.
  • Half Bad by Sally Green
  • War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
  • Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody
  • Skylarks by Karen Gregory
  • Vicious signed collectors edition by V E Schwab
  • Storm Wake by Lucy Christopher
  • Slay by Kim Curran

As you can see, I need to hide my credit cards! Please send help!  Luckily I had a really good reading month in May too, so my TBR isn’t too terribly hit, but still.  I really need to get a better handle on this book habit. Seems very likely…

Talking of my TBR, as a new feature of this regular post, I thought I’d to a physical TBR count too, to try and force me to stop buying books! It was hovering around 85 at the start of the year, but I’ve not been keeping the app I use for it super up to date since then. So I used this as an opportunity to do so!

Physical TBR at the end of May is:

87

Not as high as I feared, but not as low as I’d like.  So hopefully I will read enough in June (and buy fewer books!) that this number goes down.  Let’s see how I do! Feel free to take bets 😉
