Book Review – Timekeeper by Tara Sim
I was in an accident. I got out. I’m safe now.
An alternate Victorian world controlled by clock towers, where a damaged clock can fracture time—and a destroyed one can stop it completely.
A prodigy mechanic who can repair not only clockwork but time itself, determined to rescue his father from a Stopped town.
A series of mysterious bombings that could jeopardize all of England.
A boy who would give anything to relive his past, and one who would give anything to live at all.
A romance that will shake the very foundations of time.

My rating:

For a girl who likes neither historical fiction or romance, I really enjoyed this! It’s def more steam punk with clock magic than historical which helps. And I love the time magic and the clock spirits. I found the whole idea, and the mythology behind it, really cool.
I also really liked Danny, he’s got his faults but he acknowledges them and is trying to work on them which I think is pretty rare.
I sort of saw the end coming, but not as early as I should have! I liked the sort of mystery element to it. Plus I liked that Danny had to be hit with a clue by four to figure it out hehe.
And the romance is surprisingly cute. Colton and Danny are lovely together. A little bit insta love but they are at least realistic with it. Though Colton definitely takes it too far sometimes!
I will definitely be picking up the next book for this.
