Book Review – Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
This is just SO much fun. I do love an Arthur inspired tale (I don't think I'd go so far to call this a retelling as it's more of an after effects) so I figured I'd like this, plus it was getting rave reviews. I'm pleased to say I wholeheartedly agree with them all!

Book Review – The Dark Archive by Genevieve Cogman
So this series is a rollercoaster of spying and intrigue from early on, but this book is definitely ramping up the action! I thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it had less time for us to sit and rest and figure out what was going on.

Book Review – Devastation Class by Glen Zipper and Elaine Mongeon
I found the premise of Devastation Class really intriguing, but it is sadly plagued with a slow start and two-dimensional characters. Towards the end, it does pick up a lot, but I did consider stopping throughout the first half. It's still enjoyable, just a little flatter than it should have been. Additionally, in the e-galley, the formatting made it hard to determine whose POV we were in and to read the first sentence or two of each chapter.

Book Review – The Court of Miracles by Kester Grant
I found this such fun! I'm definitely looking forward to book two, and may even have to reread book one ;)

End of Year Review – Looking back at 2020
It's hard to look back at 2020 and think anything other than "omg it's finally over," let's be honest. It's been a bit of a year. However, I do like to celebrate some of the good things about the year.

Book Review – Crown of Smoke by P.M. Freestone
I found this a little bit of a let down. I really enjoyed the first book, and this felt like a haphazard conclusion.
-
Book Review – Rival Magic by Deva Fagan
I like that this combines my favourite things of questing and political intrigue, both to excellent effect to make the story move along really fluidly.

Book Review – Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
I was nervous to read Mexican Gothic - I am a complete wuss and stay pretty far away from horror most of the time. But I was also very intrigued by this, and swayed by people telling me it wasn't too scary ;)

Book Review – The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
I picked this book up because a friend had started reading it and said how wonderful it was. And it did sound like exactly my sort of thing, albeit in a detached sort of way. Well, consider me a T.J. Klune convert!
