Book Review – The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
I wasn’t sure what to expect going in with this - I thought it sounded amazing, but I am a horror wuss so was also apprehensive. Luckily it was exactly what I hoped for - a book version of the 80s and 90s slasher films. On paper this translates more to thriller than horror - and without any of the jump scares! So I was fine ;)

Book Review – The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne by Jonathan Stroud
Given a couple of my friends had mentioned not being sold on this, I started it pretty tentatively. But I quickly found myself caught up in the story and wondering how it was going to play out.

Book Review – The House of Always by Jenn Lyons
I love this series so much. And I normally listen to them, because they’re chonkers but also because the audio production is great. There are so many characters yet they all come to life so well!

Book Review – One for Sorrow by Amy McCulloch and Zoe Sugg
This is a tricky one for me. I like the concept a lot, but the characters were hard to connect with at first for me - in fact, I only really started racing through it once the two leads became friends. Audrey is just off-puttingly American, and Ivy is too uptight. Once they both relax a bit it's much better though.

Book Review – There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool
I found There Will Come A Darkness to be a thoroughly enjoyable read. I really liked the way it was written and how the world was crafted. It definitely implies a really wide universe without having to go into all the details of it.

Book Review – This is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
I feel that this is a book which will improve with every reread. Each word is so carefully chosen, each movement guiding you so gently to the next. Anything I didn’t see this time will be there, waiting for me, in the next read. And it is very much a book I feel I will reread regularly.

Book Review – Queen of Volts by Amanda Foody
I really do enjoy this world and the way the magic works is fascinating.

Book Review – Rea and the Blood of Nectar by Payal Doshi
I am so excited and pleased that this not only has an Indian protagonist, but it's set there too! We need more middle-grade books not set in the UK and US coming to the mainstream. This does an utterly fantastic job of making you feel like you are there, and to understand what Rea's life is like.

Book Review – The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri
Never have I been more in love with a slow burn. And I mean SLOOOOOOOW. It's glorious.

Book Review – Into The Fire by Elizabeth Moon
I sort of “accidentally” ended up rereading the entire Vatta’s War series, as well as Cold Welcome before picking this up finally. I’m glad I did as I definitely picked up some things in CW and this that I probably would have missed otherwise (and definitely did the first time around in the case of Cold Welcome). I really do love this universe and Moon’s military sci-fi epics.
