I think I struggled with this at first as it took a while to get going and because the twins don’t learn about the role for a good while. When we finally do get to understand what’s going on, the book picks up. 

I loved Poranek’s first book and came to this with high expectations and I’m so pleased that it was exactly what I wanted it to be.

I think retellings are definitely Marissa’s comfort zone but this didn’t really stand out from the crowd for me.

I love how Rosie writes 😍 this prequel to the Sixteen Souls series is so wonderful. It was lovely getting to see Edie and Viola’s story, and more of the Hand. 

I was apprehensive about this, as it sounded (and is) very Welsh, but is written by an American. Well, whatever magic Lloyd-Jones employed to do this worked! It is stunningly atmospheric and beautiful.

I simply adored the first book in this series, it is dark and tricksy, and just generally great fun to read. This finale to the duology is no different, I am happy to say! I'm honestly already tempted to reread them both :D
