The Polar Bear Explorers’ Club is a super cute middle-grade adventure that is perfect for a winter read.
I loved the trip we go on, plus getting to see the silliness of the explorers’ clubs was fantastic. Stella and Felix’s friendship, in particular, is very lovely, they are so supportive of each other.
This is perhaps a little simplistic and formulaic, but honestly, I find it hard to judge that when I had so much fun reading it. My only complaint is the slightly tired “girls can’t do this” approach – but given the era is definitely not modern, I thought it was reasonable. And it was certainly something addressed in the book.
A final shout out to the club rules, which are included at the end – they are hilarious! 4 stars.
