My rating:

Review
I received this book from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
The latest addition to the Marlow Murder Club series has its highs and lows for me, but the highs win out.
This literally starts the next day from the last book ending which is wild! It’s definitely different and was fun to see.
I thought this actually gave me my favourite versions of our three Heroines. Back to basics in a way, but with a softer Judith and more confident Suzie and Becks. Also having Judith be less physically (and mentally) present worked well for me. I like her as our lead, but it was nice to see her falter and give the others a chance to shine.
What didn’t work quite as well was the reasoning behind the plot. Without spoiling it, I don’t love the whodunnit of it. I’d have liked the various storylines to wrap up differently. The reasoning felt weak.
That aside, the lead in of the mystery felt the usual level of fun to read and well written, so combined with enjoying the character arcs, I found this a very enjoyable read.
3.75 stars.
