Book Review – Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
The third installment in the all-new series from the #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater!
Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.
The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost.
Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.

My rating:

I found parts of this absolutely stunning, and parts a little frustrating. I love that we return more to the quest for Glendower here, even if I intensely dislike the Greenmantle arc, I think it adds an unnecessary element to the story.
I really loved getting see even more of Ronan, and his crush on Adam is so cute. Plus I like his interactions with Blue – both sweet and snarky! Adam is finally beginning to level out a little too, which worked much better for me. Plus his friendship with Persephone is just lovely. And that court scene. *sob*
I am not a huge fan of romance, as you likely know, but the emerging relationship between Blue and Gansey is sort of sweet. Plus it’s nice to finally get a slow burn.
Poor Noah is suffering here, and I worry that’s only going to continue though 🙁 But I love him!
Maura disappearing sort of worked for me? I didn’t love it, but it really does work for the story.
There is a bit of a shock at the end that really threw me and made me very sad, that I really needed more from – it’s quite a big event and it seems to happen very suddenly and have not real impact.
