Moxie – book vs movie – or both!
I first read Moxie close to when it came out - I think it was early 2018. I can’t remember if I picked it up at YALC or just in Waterstones, but I remember thinking it looked good even if it wasn’t my usual sort of book. I don’t read a lot of contemporary, and this was possibly one of my first forays into what is now my favourite sort of contemporary - books with social commentary.

Book Review – The Crow Rider by Kalyn Josephson
I fell back easily into this world, which is always good in a sequel, and was quickly wrapped back up in the politics and magic.

Book Tag – Book Adaptation Tag
I have been tagged by Ellie over at Eleanor Sophie Writes to do the Book Adaptation Tag. Thanks Ellie! I thought it was really intriguing and I was keen to give it a go. I have cheated though and used both movies and TV, as I am not the biggest movie watcher.

Book Review – Agent Zaiba Investigates: The Poison Plot by Annabelle Sami
Honestly, this series is so much fun! I love Zaiba so much, she is creative and intelligent and kind. And Poppy and Ali are excellent additions to the team. Daniela Sosa’s illustrations are genuinely beautiful and really help to bring the book to life.

Book Review – Phoenix Flame by Sara Holland
I am confused by this book. I honestly thought throughout it would be a trilogy because of the pacing, and this was massively enforced by the ending. While we get resolution on most of the storyline, there is a sort of epilogue moment that really lead me to think there should be more! This review is a little spoilery because I want to discuss some of this, so I've marked it for spoilers and beware if you read on.

Book Review – The Last Bear by Hannah Gold
This is SO PRETTY. Inside and out. Honestly, my first thought on seeing the book is that the art is even more stunning in person. And the naked hardback has amazing gold foiling. The story is equally as lovely - with illustrations to match.

Book Review – A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik
Along with many others, I read all about the controversy surrounding this book. I'd also seen a couple of friends love it, and a few other mixed reviews. So it's safe to say that I went in not knowing how I'd feel about it. Controversy aside, I loved it. It really was everything I felt a darker, more YA magic school should be.

Book Tag – Isles of Storm and Sorrow Book Tag
Today I am celebrating the wonderful Isles of Storm and Sorrow series by Bex Hogan. As you may know, I love this series - Viper and Venom are honestly amazing, and I am SO HYPED for the finale book Vulture! And because I love Bex and this series, I wanted to start a book tag for it - I hope you enjoy it and share it with your friends.

The Ultimate Guide to YA Mysteries – Part 2
On yesterdays Part 1 of the Ultimate Guide to YA Mysteries, I discussed all the books I've got round to trying so far. Today's post is covering both my anticipated pre-releases and books that have already been released but I've not got round to yet. Are any of them on your TBR?
