Book Review – The Two Lost Mountains by Matthew Reilly
High octane, ridiculous, and full of wonder. Reilly continues to impress and amaze with these books.

Book Review – The Dark Archive by Genevieve Cogman
So this series is a rollercoaster of spying and intrigue from early on, but this book is definitely ramping up the action! I thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it had less time for us to sit and rest and figure out what was going on.

Nikki’s Best Books of 2020
Happy New Year everyone! I thought I'd kick off this year with a post talking about my favourite reads from last year. I'm sorting them by age demographic to make it easier for you to look through :)

Book Review – Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
I was nervous to read Mexican Gothic - I am a complete wuss and stay pretty far away from horror most of the time. But I was also very intrigued by this, and swayed by people telling me it wasn't too scary ;)

Book Review – The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
I picked this book up because a friend had started reading it and said how wonderful it was. And it did sound like exactly my sort of thing, albeit in a detached sort of way. Well, consider me a T.J. Klune convert!

Book Review – The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
Honestly, the writing and story just really work for me and are so stunningly beautiful. Much like the Night Circus, it is circuitous and confusing in places, but I loved it.

Book Review – The Switch by Beth O’Leary
Honestly I think I just like something about the way Beth O’Leary writes. Her writing makes me smile. In this one, the older characters in particular sang off the page. Eileen is a delight!

Book Review – Meet Cute Club by Jack Harbon
The book club setting is cute, and it’s a pretty enjoyable romcom overall, albeit one without much depth.
-
Book Review – The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind by Jackson Ford
This book is laugh out loud funny in places, which is impressive as it’s fairly high octane throughout. I think the title sums it up perfectly - it tells you what the book is about and makes you laugh at the same time!

Book Review – The Memory of Souls by Jenn Lyons
I think I was expecting this to be a trilogy - spoiler alert! It’s not! 😂🙈 So that definitely threw me once it became clear. Though - yay more books!! That aside though, I continue to totally adore this series. It very much follows in the veins of books one and two, so if you enjoyed those, you’re in a for a great time. This spends a good amount of time slowly ravelling in all those plot threads, and really shows how it all ties together.
