    May Book Haul

May was …less good than April in terms of haul.  I bought a few books because authors were going to be at YALC, or sale, and then ALL the pre orders came out in May, and I “accidentally” stumbled across a few other books. 😀 My haul was: Goodbye, Perfect by Sara Barnard The Grisha Trilogy box set by Leigh Bardugo Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake The Beasts Heart by Leife Shalcross Charmcaster by Sebastien De Castell The Queens of Innis Lear by  Tessa Gratton Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett The Surface Breaks by Louise O Neill Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian, an ARC kindly provided by…

Blog Tour – The Beast’s Heart by Leife Shallcross

Hello! Today I am taking part in my very first blog tour – for The Beast’s Heart by Leife Shallcross, a book I completely loved!  If you would like to read my review, check it out here. And definitely check out the other blog tour posts – there’s some fab posts 🙂 I am hosting a blog post from Leife about her favourite fairytales.  Mine is definitely Beauty and the Beast, and I always love a good retelling. I totally agree with Leife on a lot of her picks for that one haha. Leife’s fave fairy tales I love fairy tales as much for their romance and enchantment, as for…

    The Book Blogger Insider Tag

I found this book tag on Keep Reading Forward and thought it seemed like fun, so I pinched it! Rules: 1. Answer the questions below 2. Credit the creator Jamie @ALittleSliceofJamie 3. Tag at least 5 people 4. Have fun! 1. Where do you typically write your blog posts? On my sofa, normally while listening to music or watching whatever I’ve recorded on my TV box.  Probably house building shows lol! Currently watching Treehouse Masters. It’s mildly dreadful and yet I’m still hooked, because treehouses! 2. How long does it generally take you to write a book review? I tend to write them pretty shortly after I finish a book, and put…

    Sequel Pre Orders

At the beginning of the year, I did a post about my anticipated 2018 releases, and I went on to pre-order all the books in the post.  In that, I had a section for sequels.  I recently realised that I had so many more sequels I was looking forward to.  So while I had the first part of the year covered for new series or one – offs, I had nearly missed a couple of sequels! As I couldn’t possibly let that stand, I went off and did a giant sequel pre order session.  Completely in the face of my recent buying ban, but they’re spaced out through the year,…

    April Book Haul

So as you guys all know, last month I acquired FAR too many books.  So this month I went out into the world determined not to buy any more books.  I had a couple of pre orders due, plus two book boxes.  I thought it would be easy.  Now as I’m sure you’re dying to know – this is how I did! Time Bomb by Joelle Charbonneau (pre ordered, and one of my anticipated 2018 releases) To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo (kindly sent to me by the lovely and amazing Aurora Sights) The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi (which I won on twitter <3) Victory Conditions by Elizabeth…

Amazon UK’s 100 Books To Read In A Lifetime Tag

So I saw Liz over at Travel in Retrospect do this tag last month, and I have blatantly stolen it because I thought it was a good list, and may give me a few more books to put on my “challenge” list.  That’s my list of books I’m going to read one day. Not necessarily hard books, or all classics, just ones I keep saying I will read and don’t get around to! One day I may even post that list here haha.  But for now I will keep it as a list on my phone 😉 1. Include a link back to Amazon’s official 100 Books to Read in a…

    Hocus Pocus tag

So I was tagged by Helen at Watching Sparks to do this, and I really enjoyed reading hers, so I thought I’d give it a go! My first ever book tag post! Though I do at this point have to admit to not enjoying Hocus Pocus as a child.  It was too scary! The Rules There are no rules. It’s YOUR blog. But it would be nice if you linked back to Never Not Reading (tag creator), and maybe the person who tagged you too. Share the love, folks.(Feel free to use the GIFs used by Never Not Reading, the graphics made by Flavia the Bibliophile if you would like, both, or…

    Anticipated 2018 releases

I hope everyone had a lovely New Years 🙂 I thought I’d try and put together a post about my most anticipated 2018 new releases.  There are so many! I’m certain I have forgotten some 😉  I haven’t included any that I already have an ARC of (eg Everless) because I figure I can’t anticipate something I can read anytime (or have already read)! The dates listed are all current expected publication acccording to goodreads – this is likely to be US dates (sad!) but I did catch at least one (first time I’ve been thankful for regional cover changes haha) and change it. New/one-off books Children of Blood and…
