Book Review – The Polar Bear Explorers’ Club by Alex Bell
The Polar Bear Explorers' Club is a super cute middle-grade adventure that is perfect for a winter read. I loved the trip we go on, plus getting to see the silliness of the explorers' clubs was fantastic. Stella and Felix's friendship, in particular, is very lovely, they are so supportive of each other.

Book Review – Kidnap on the California Comet by M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman
I love this series! First, my little transport nerd heart is so happy (trains may not be my thing, but it still worked so well!) and you can see a real love of it through the pages.

Book Review – The Highland Falcon Thief by M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman
I am sad I can’t go for a ride on the highland falcon, I have to say. This book is really infused with a love of trains that makes it wonderfully nerdy but not in a overt way.

Book Review – Maya and the Rising Dark by Rena Barron
Honestly a super fun and lovely middle grade read! This had everything you need - adventure, myths, super powers, friendship, family, and a great bad guy! I also found the West African influences beautifully done and well explained for an audience (like me) that might not be as familiar with them.

Book Review – The Eye of the North by Sinéad O Hart
I thoroughly enjoyed this piece of middle grade loveliness! Emmeline is adorable, and Thing annoyed me a little right at the start, but properly grew on me.

Book Review – D (A Tale of Two Worlds) by Michel Faber
I went in seeing this as a YA read, and it’s really more of a middle grade. But it has a healthy dose of adventure, peril and more than a little fun. It’s an enjoyable read! Or an enjoyable rea ;)

Book Review – Dragon Mountain by Katie and Kevin Tsang
This was so much fun!!! I wanted a little more backstory, but that aside I loved everything about it. And I need my own dragon please and thank you. 🐉

Book Review – Curse of the Night Witch by Alex Aster
I really enjoyed this! Super fun and you know I love a good quest. The concept is fascinating - everyone is born with an emblem that describes their talent. I can only imagine how that could feel suffocating! So when a wish goes awry, our heroes end up on a quest to rid themselves of a curse.
